Backlinks are links from other websites. Any link from a website can be considered a recommendation. Google's algorithm is similar to scientific work. Scientific work identifies different authors who have written on a particular topic. The more often an author is named, the higher his reputation will be. There is also a quality factor that must be taken into account. If a recognized professor quotes an author in an AAA-rated article, this has a greater impact on the reputation of the author quoted than if a doctoral student quotes him in a magazine that is not particularly respected.
It is similar with links from other sites. If I get a backlink from a website whose reputation and trust is high, this link will give me a higher reputation than a link from an unknown forum, blog or website. The link power (Linkjuice) is passed on through a link to the linked website and the backlink makes the website more relevant.
It is important that backlinks from relevant websites, blogs, etc. are provided. When I run an e-commerce website, cooking backlinks don't really bring me much success. In the worst case such backlinks can also cause damage. Backlinks from so-called "bad neighbourhoods" can in the worst case even promote a website from the Google Index. An example are several links from pornographic or other dubious websites.
To set up backlinks, you should conduct a detailed research and research and analyze related link sources. Which cornerstones of the Internet were your multipliers? Who brings you besides a recommendation for Google perhaps even relevant traffic on your website? This is the only way to make yourself more independent from Google.
There are several ways to push your own website in the Google Index. Depending on competitive pressure, budget and importance of your project you have to decide how to proceed. Most of the time you go into a grey area when building links or some cracks go directly into the black hat area.
There are different platforms where you can buy backlinks for small and big money. In addition, you can address relevant bloggers or website operators and discuss about a link purchase. Depending on the blogger or website operator, such a thing can backfire. Apart from that the link purchase offends against the general Google guidelines and should be enjoyed therefore only with absolute caution.
When exchanging links, for example, you can exchange links with other bloggers and website operators relevant to the topic. Reciprocal linking, i.e. when A links to B and B back to A, has almost no positive effect. More interesting are link networks of people who have several different blogs or portals. The link exchange is of course not gladly seen by Google!
Creating your own backlinks by promoting your website on other forums, blogs or websites is fine to a certain extent. I can add my website to various catalogs, yellow pages or directories. It becomes borderline if you post forum contributions or comments in blogs "anonymously". But one rumors, something like this is often done ;)
The most beautiful and honest way to get links is the so-called linkbait. This creates an added value that is more or less voluntarily linked by others. An example are raffles or real value-added content in the form of informative articles or funny videos.
No matter which activities are pursued, there is a basic rule which must be observed. Your link building must be natural! Do not set a multitude of links within the shortest time. It seems very abnormal, if you collect many links within shortest time and receive afterwards only few. The distribution of backlinks is also important.
It is unnatural if you only have five backlinks from strong websites. Such a thing looks for Google after link purchase and could bring you proper trouble. No website is linked all at once only from known websites.
